Heading, Ball Winning, Ball Winning

Beginning with a short heading progression the Hornets really focused on ball winning on Monday afternoon.  Once the technical aspect concluded the team moved into two grids focusing on handball and competing for air balls.  Progressing to a larger field the team then played a ball winning game where a ball was served from the wing into the box where the defense held a 4v2 advantage.  Defenders were responsible for clearing the balls and attackers were supposed to make their lives as hard as possible.  After several rotations the gray team finished on top 21-20.  Two goal boxes of 7 ball then took place, hard work for the defense in a 3v2 + GK situation, the Hornets focused on trying to be as efficient in the box as possible.  Certainly a area the team can work to get much better at.  Training would end with an 8v8 half field scrimmage.  Tomorrow is shaping up to be a super day for a match.  If you can't make it to Kzoo to see the Hornets and Dutch face off be sure to follow the LiveStats or Radio Broadcast.

GO HORNETS!!!
